This may be a time when you are considering returning to education or training. Carlow has a strong educational base. County Carlow VEC provides a comprehensive range of accessible lifelong learning education and training programmes and educational support services to the local community. County Carlow VEC also offer post leaving certificate courses at the Carlow Institute of Further Education. Two of Ireland’s Institutions of Higher Education are located in Carlow town; the Institute of Technology Carlow and Carlow College ( Saint Patricks ).

We also have Teagasc, whose headquarters in Carlow provides training in horticulture, agriculture, forestry and equine studies. Saint Catherine’s Community Services Centre provide adult education courses.

    Information on the full range of educational opportunities for adults.
  6. Carlow Institute of Further Education
    Information on short-term, part-time flexible adult learning in a variety of disciplines.
  7. Carlow Rural Information Services Project ( CRISP )
    This Project consists of a network of computer training and access centres located throughout County Carlow which aim to provide under-served populations in rural and urban communities with low cost information technology resources. The project aims to provide every citizen of County Carlow with access to ICT resources, either through its centres or by the various outreach programmes it arranges in partnership with local and national agencies.
