Carlow County Development Board
( which comprises representatives from Local Government, Local Development
Bodies, Statutory Bodies and Agencies and the Social Partners ) developed this website in an attempt
to make it easier for people who are unemployed or face the possibility of unemployment to view
information, assistance and supports available to them in County Carlow from one location.
The County Development Board provides a forum for key players at local level to engage in a
process of long-term planning for the County.
Vision for Carlow
The first step in shaping a vision for County Carlow is to have a clear picture of where we are
today. To get this clear picture on a range of issues, the Board and the Community and Enterprise
Section of Carlow County Council have been involved in extensive research and analysis on a
broad range of socio economic data.
The results of this extensive research, together with other Board information, is available from
